ABSTRACT
A priority selection algorithm for suitable afforestation land in mountainous areas based on CrossViT is proposed to address multimodal data heterogeneity, difficulties in spatial-attribute fusion, and weak nonlinear modelling capabilities in soil erosion and rock desertification control. We construct a targeted indicator system focusing on soil erosion sensitivity, water and soil conservation, and rock desertification sensitivity. The dual-branch CrossViT fuses numerical indicators and spatial distribution maps; multi-head self-attention and cross-attention capture key ecological correlations. The model accurately identifies suitable afforestation land, and planting priority is ranked by ecosystem service value and benefit–cost ratio. Results show 100% classification accuracy for suitable afforestation land, with the ecosystem quality index reaching 78%-91%, providing support for targeted soil and water conservation afforestation.
