ABSTRACT
This paper presents a mathematical model for optimizing the allocation of drinking, rain, and
recycled water in smart cities. Employing a genetic algorithm across various scenarios, the model
achieves a marked improvement in urban water-use efficiency. The findings demonstrate the approach’s
potential to inform sustainable water-management strategies, thereby advancing environmental
conservation and resource sustainability in modern urban environments.
