PJOES Peer Review Policy
The Polish Journal of Environmental Studies (PJOES) is committed to publishing original and high-quality scientific contributions through a transparent and rigorous peer review process.
1. Initial Manuscript Screening
All scientific contributions undergo an initial assessment based on criteria of originality and quality.
• Submitted manuscripts are first pre-evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and the Statistical Editor (review articles are exempt from statistical checks).
• Only manuscripts that meet the PJOES's scope and formal requirements proceed to the next stage.
2. Reviewer Assignment
Upon a positive pre-evaluation, the manuscript is sent to an Executive Editor.
• The Executive Editor assigns at least two independent reviewers.
• Reviewers are selected from the Advisory Board, experts suggested by the author, or other qualified Polish or foreign scientists in the relevant field.
3. Decision and Revision
The Executive Editor and the Editor-in-Chief jointly determine the fate of the manuscript.
• Based on the reviews received, the decision will be one of the following: accepted for publication, rejected, or sent back to the corresponding author for revision.
• Final Acceptance of any paper rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
4. Mandatory Revision Procedures
If a manuscript is sent back to the corresponding author for revision, the following steps are mandatory:
• The corresponding author must address all points of the reviews.
• A comprehensive justification or rebuttal must be provided in the Explanation letter.
• The revised manuscripts will be checked by the Executive Editor and, if necessary, by the original reviewers.
• A final decision on acceptance or rejection will be made jointly by both the Executive Editor and the Editor-in-Chief.
I'm happy to generate a comprehensive Research Ethics Policy for the Polish Journal of Environmental Studies (PJOES).
This policy is based on international best practices (like those recommended by COPE—Committee on Publication Ethics) and covers key areas such as authorship, data integrity, animal/human research, and conflicts of interest.
